SHOWING NOW - FINGERPRINTS - A Group Exhibition
Jan Garben - - Debra Huggins
Antonia Mrljak - - Adrienne Hunt
Dianne Gerlach - - Alethea Deane
Graham Wackett - - Aileen Westbrook

Every artist strives to leave a mark; a fingerprint of themselves and their work. Within this exhibition a shared passion for making art and for leaving a fingerprint is entwined with a recognition of marks made by others or by nature.
Mrljak’s paintings symbolise the link between the past and the future; for Deane, sculptural wings explore the the individual within space and time; the natural world is the means of expressing an inner world in Gerlach’s paintings; and with the focus still on Tasmania, Garben’s paintings explore the marks that the world leaves on us.
Huggin’s work is inspired by the shapes, colours and movement of the sea while Hunts’ is inspired by a fascination with majestic lands marked by ancient civilizations; Wackett’s paintings capture the essence of Peru using the ancient technique of Moku; and for Westbrook, fingerprints are the symbol of the hidden language of things.
